Gypsy Wagon: From an original gouache painting, New York 1947 by Artist: Ginette Bernas Wales

Ginette Bernas Wales was born in Paris in 1921 and left France at the start of the 1940’s as a young art student to attend The New School of Social Research in New York. She was a student of Stanley Hayter who founded the legendary Atelier 17 Studio in Paris.

She later received her MFA at Pomona College, Claremont, California. She now resides in Kula, Hawaii.

Ginette's imaginative artworks are windows into her life in Paris and travels in Algeria and Morocco in the 1940's.
